An ovarian cyst is any collection of fluid, surrounded by a very thin wall, within an ovary. Any ovarian follicle that is larger than about two centimeters is termed an ovarian cyst. An ovarian cyst can be as small as a pea, or larger than a cantaloupe.It is basically a tumor formed on the walls of a woman's uterus where eggs develop and are released at ovulation during a woman's monthly ovulation cycle.Ovarian cysts do not produce any symptoms.They are diagnosed during other diagnostic check ups.May be by chance during some ultra sound done for other check ups.However, following symptoms may be present:
1.Sudden severe , sharp pain in lower abdomen or pelvic.
2.During irregular menstrual periods.
3.Pain while urination.
4.Infertility
